Reconstructed Stone

The Fortress Stone range of cast stone products and services reflect many years of experience in the industry. This is complemented by a large modern factory and experienced company personnel who are available to assist with your technical requirements from early design to project completion.

We provide the specifier, designer or builder with a wide choice of sandstones, limestones and granites, all manufactured from various blends of naturally coloured crushed stones and washed sands to produce true reconstructed stones. These units are then hand finished to produce the individual finish and texture required. They are then carefully identified, palletised and shrink wrapped for delivery to site. Pigment is not used in the manufacturing process thus keeping the stone colour fast.

The units are primarily manufactured to designers individual specification although a limited range of standard designs are available.

All components are manufactured strictly in accordance with our standard specification which in many cases exceeds BS 1217 (1997).

All of our products provide excellent durable physical properties superior weathering characteristics and financial saving over most other types of quarried stone.

Fortress Stone has been used to tremendous effect on many types of buildings in the commercial sector throughout Ireland and Great Britain. These projects range from shopping mall to hotels to company headquarters and office accommodation.

Whatever the project and/or architectural style we have been able to enhance buildings either as a trim or a complete masonry system.

Fortress Stone has many advantages over natural quarried stone such as:

• State of the art fixing, support and lifting systems can be cast in at time of manufacture. (Units are easier to handle on site, form work and specialist site fixing can be minimised).
• Large Quantities of repetitive units can be produced in comparatively short period of time. (Lead in times from placing of order to initial deliveries to site are reduced).
• Cast Stone should be significantly more cost effective than quarries stone. (High speed casting, rates and good detailing to maximise mould recovery can produce dramatic savings).

The manufacture of individual cast stone units for use in private residential applications forms an important part of our total service.

We have comprehensive in-house pattern and mould making facilities which can produce a virtually unlimited range of forms and profiles – whether for a new build situation or the re-creation of badly damaged or corroded natural stonework.

Our team of highly skilled joiners and pattern makers work in a variety of mediums such as timber, steel, glass fibre and plastics in order to produce the ideal mould for each situation.
